“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” ― Maya Angelou
If you would have told the 20 something me that I would be a food blogger ( a popular one in Bengaluru), would build a website from scratch, win recipe contests, dine and take selfies with Michelin star chefs from across the globe and be the first one to taste special meals at star properties, be featured in publications - I would have thought you are nuts!!
The 20yr old me hated kitchen, so cooking was like a flying to the moon concept for me . But then life has its ways to turn things around, for better or for worse. For me it was a marriage followed by a divorce, which led to a passion to do something that I always enjoyed doing - BLOG. There is a Japanese term called "Kayushi" if i remember it right from my reiki classes. Which talks about a concept about harnessing your inner spirit and its true potential. Wherein the entire world seems to be pulling you down and yet you are charged with a bright, burning desire to prove them all wrong. The first time I picked a DSLR to click pictures, a feedback was given to me not for picture quality but my societal status. That's how people are, you do something good people will point fingers . You do something bad, people will still point fingers at you. Haters gonna hate!! To all that negative piece of crap, all I have to say is - I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do my best!!
Be your own silver lining :) Or gold if that suits you better !!
Its funny how when everything seems to be going haywire, there is a sudden surge that puts you right back onto the pinnacle of happiness. Yesterday I was featured twice :)
The first food blogger to collaborate and be featured with her very own content on FreshMenu blog :)

Picked up a nice clay Ganesha yesterday with Mom, damn he was heavy!! Made a yummy veggie meal, watched a movie and dressed up to ring in the festivity. It's been ages since I wore a Kancheevaram saree, although its uncomfortable draping and carrying off one. I personally belive it surely makes any woman feel pretty!!
Happy Ganesh Chaturti Folks!!
Pssst - I am going to cook with a Celebrity chef on Saturday, so do stay tuned for some live action on my FB and Instagram handle!!
I so love these lines from Maya's book -
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size But when I start to tell them, They think I'm telling lies. I say, It's in the reach of my arms The span of my hips, The stride of my step, The curl of my lips. I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me.” ― Maya Angelou,
